DURATION OF THE COURSE

•  FRESH GRADUATES – Three Years

•  CANDIDATES WITH EXPERIENCE –Two Years. Candidates with minimum of two years experience in the respective subject will be given one year exemption, however he/she has to sit for the first year University Examination at the end of the Second year.

•  DIPLOMA HOLDERS – Two Years – Candidates those who have already completed Diploma program in the concerned specialty will be exempted one year of study, however it is mandatory for them to write the thesis and appear for one clinical paper. Special consideration may be given to those who have experience in the same specialty.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


ELIGIBILITY

•  MBBS or equivalent degree in Modern Medicine from a recognized university.

•  Should be registered with the respective Medical Council / Licensing body

•  Commitment to participate in, and complete, any assigned task by the university  for the part fulfillment of the PG program requirement.

SELECTION PROCESS /CRITERIA

Based on merit / interview/ Entrance Examination.
The selection process will be open, transparent and accountable. Every applicant who fulfils the eligibility criteria will be given an opportunity to compete for the available seats.
APPLICATION : Application can be obtained from the PG Program coordination office or from the BIU website
Sufficient time will be allowed to enable all requirements of the application process to be completed and submitted.

PART- I

Paper I

Clinical chemistry
Histochemistry
Medical statistics

Paper II
Cytopathology
Hematopathology

Practical examination

Histopathology
Cytopathology
Hematopathology
Clinical pathology

Practical examination will be in forms of gross Specimens /OSCE / slides / tests.
Part –I Examination will be conducted at the end of the first year

Part II Thesis writing

Thesis subject will be chosen and approved by the end of the first year. Thesis should be submitted by the end of the second year and will be examined by the external examiner and internal examiners. The candidate will not be allowed to sit for the final examination without approval of the thesis

Pass marks 50% of the total marks separately in theory and practical.
The distribution of marks for each unit will be as follows.

Practical examination

I. slides

II. Gross specimens
Spotting / OSCE (15 stations)
