British International University is accredited, recognized and approved by the Charter of the Government of Montserrat, British West Indies (A British Dependent Territory). BIU is provisionally accredited by the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP) which provides assurance to medical students, graduates, the medical profession, healthcare institutions and the public that undergraduate programmes leading to qualifications in medicine meet appropriate national and international standards for educational quality, and that medical graduates have a sufficiently complete and valid educational experience.
The University is currently in the process of being listed in the World Health Organization (W.H.O) World directory of medical schools, enabling its graduates to appear for licensing examinations worldwide. British International University also plans in the near future to be registered with the General Medical Council (G.M.C) of United Kingdom and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) of the United States as well as be listed among the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
